Gattoni will soon sign with River Plate

TRANSFERS Argentine defender Federico Gattoni is about to leave Sevilla and return to his homeland. After earlier rumors of a possible move to San Lorenzo, it now appears that he will commit his fate to top club River Plate. This is a one-year lease with an option to buy. An agreement is reportedly already in place, but not all the documents have been formalized yet. Thus, Jesper Fredberg suddenly gets some more work to fine-tune the central defense during the transfer period. 


Besides the loss of Gattoni, Debast's transfer to Sporting Lisbon will probably be announced after the European Championship. On top of that, it is also uncertain whether Jan Vertonghen will continue his soccer career. Finally, Augustinsson's lease has also expired and an extension is not in sight for the time being. Fredberg will thus have to attract at least two, but possibly even three or four defenders.
