TRANSFERS Ludwig Augustinsson is no longer wanted at Sevilla. There are reports that his contract will be terminated early. The 30-year-old Augustinsson left Sevilla last summer for Anderlecht on a rental basis. The Swedish international got a lot of playing time and Anderlecht initially wanted to keep him.

The left-back has also expressed his desire to stay with purple and white. On May 31, Het Nieuwsblad reported that Anderlecht and Sevilla had reached an agreement on a permanent transfer for about 2 million euros. But Diario de Sevilla reported more than three weeks ago that this is not true and that Anderlecht has in fact decided to give up Augustinsson because of his salary demands.

The same goes for Danish midfielder Thomas Delaney, who had also come over from Sevilla on a rental basis.

Estadio Deportivo now reports that Sevilla must let go of several players to reduce the salary budget, including possibly Augustinsson. Óscar Rodríguez and Thomas Delaney are others who may have their contracts dissolved in exchange for compensation.

Possibly this news creates a new opening for Anderlecht. The Swede would then be transfer free which means Anderlecht doesn't have to pay a transfer fee anymore. Maybe this gives some extra space in the salary negotiations.
Augustinsson gave four assists in 32 league games for Anderlecht last season. Sevilla acquired Augustinsson from Germany's Werder Bremen in the summer of 2021. He gave one assist in a total of 27 league games for the Spanish club.
