OTHER 15-year-old Nunzio Engwanda has signed his first professional contract. The defender has tied his fate to Anderlecht until 2026. Last weekend, he became the youngest ever debutant in Belgian professional football.

Nunzio Engwanda is the brother of Alonzo, captain of the RSCA Futures this season. The teenager hails from the region around Charleroi, but has been playing for Anderlecht since he was six years old. "Nunzio quickly stood out for his composure and confidence with the ball at foot. Although he mainly plays at centre-back, with his polyvalent profile he can also play in the centre of midfield," Anderlecht echoes.

This summer, Engwanda made the move from the U16 to the RSCA Futures. Last Friday on the first day of play he was allowed to fill in at half-time. At 15 years, 8 months and 11 days (born 1 December 2007), he became the youngest debutant ever in Belgian professional football. After all, it is only since this season that the age limit was lowered from 16 to 15.

Engwanda is also a Belgian youth international. He played six times for the U15 and thirteen times for the U16 last year.
