Roger Vanden Stock is in pole position to succeed Jan Peeters as chairman of the Belgian Football Federation next year. Vanden Stock would like to say "yes", but he is still hesitating a bit.

"The plans of the strategical commission need to be agreed. I am working on a serious reform." Vanden Stock wants to make several changes. "We have the same structure like we had in the forties. But if they don't agree with my reform, I can't accept the function of chairman."

Roger Vanden Stock is also chairman of RSC Anderlecht. "Combining the two is impossible. Or maybe only temporarily... It is a tough decision. I want to be involved in Anderlecht, but I only want to structure the Belgian Football Federation in a good way. Maybe I can stay member of the directory committee of Anderlecht. Herman Van Holsbeeck can become managing director. We are working on a structure, and I already have a chairman in mind."

"I want a league with 14 teams", states Vanden Stock. "Our competition needs to become stronger. That's only possible with stronger teams, and maybe with play-offs at the end of the competition. And the Belgian Football Federation needs to be lead by real professionals."
