INTERVIEWS Will Jan Vertonghen sign on or hang up his shoes? While the ball is not in the church, this will undoubtedly be one of the most discussed topics around Anderlecht in the coming weeks. "Jan is still fresh and hungry," Anderlecht CEO Jesper Fredberg sounds optimistic.
"What can I say about a possible contract extension? Not much, because I keep that between Jan and myself," Fredberg told VTM on Monday when presenting the calendar of the Champions' Playoffs. "But it's no secret that we are very happy with Jan. He is doing very well. He doesn't look like an old soccer player. He's still fresh and hungry. That's the type of players we want."
"Jan knows the door is open. We are ready to do something. I don't have to convince him. Jan is a mature man. He knows what he wants. As soon as he's out about his future, we'll sit together and talk about it."
