YOUTH Anderlecht has had Mohamed Amine Mahroug sign a first professional contract. The left back, who plays for the U16, has tied his fate to purple-white for three years.

Mahroug has been playing for Anderlecht since he was eight years old. Before that, he played for Ganshoorn. At the end of January, he was allowed a first appearance with the U23 in a practice game against OH Leuven.

"Amine is a modern, left-footed wing defender," said academy director Mikkel Hemmersam. "He stands out for his ball-taking ability and has mastered both defensive and offensive aspects. If we continue to work together in the coming years on the aspects in which he can still improve, Amine is without a doubt a fine up-and-coming talent for the future."
