Delaney shoots Denmark to the European Championship

GAMES Denmark qualified for next summer's European Cup this weekend. It won 2-1 against Slovenia and Anderlecht player Thomas Delaney scored the winning goal. Killian Sardella and Mario Stroeykens had a less happy evening.


Delaney, like Kasper Schmeichel, was in the starting lineup for Denmark. Schmeichel played the entire match, Delaney was allowed to rest after 75 minutes. Kasper Dolberg was allowed to step in in the 85th minute. Anders Dreyer remained on the bench.

The Belgian U21 also came into action. They lost 0-2, their first defeat in four European Championship qualifiers. Killian Sardella and Mario Stroeykens were in the starting lineup, but were both substituted: Stroeykens after 73 minutes, Sardella after 78 minutes. For Scotland, Robbie Ure remained on the bench for the entire match.
