Olaigbe: "Important years at Anderlecht"

INTERVIEWS Anderlecht will visit season revelation Cercle Brugge today. It will be a very special game for one Bruges player: Kazeem Olaigbe will play against the club where he spent seven years of his youth. "I played together with Zeno Debast and Mario Stroeykens," he said.
 


Olaigbe played for Anderlecht from age 8 to 17. "Those were very important training years for me," he reflected in Het Laatste Nieuws. In 2019, however, he opted for an English adventure with Southampton. This summer, he returned to Belgium to join Cercle Brugge.

In green-and-black, he faces Anderlecht on Sunday. Especially with T2 Roel Clement, it will be a happy reunion. "Clement had the biggest impact on my development in my years with Anderlecht," Olaigbe says. "At Anderlecht, I mastered the technical aspect."
