OTHER Yari Verschaeren signed a new contract with Anderlecht. The number ten extended his commitment, which expired at the end of this season, until mid-2026. "Anderlecht is just the club for me and I feel I am not finished here yet," the midfielder said.
"It is by no means an ideal situation if you are suddenly injured for a long time in your last year of your contract. I am therefore very happy that we quickly found an agreement," Verschaeren told the official club website. "I have always liked being here. I am also happy with the respect and trust I have felt from the management, that gives me an extra boost to give even more back to this club."
"We are very pleased that Yari is staying with us," said CEO Sports Jesper Fredberg. "Yari had a crucial impact within the team last season until his unfortunate injury in the spring. We felt it was important to show him our faith and trust, so we started talking about the future pretty quickly. Yari didn't need to be convinced of our ambitions. I think I speak for everyone when I say we can't wait to see him on the field again."
