YOUTH 15-year-old Terry Van de Ven signed his first professional contract with Anderlecht today. The 15-year-old striker is now fixed until 2026. Terry is the younger brother of Chike, but the latter swapped purple-white for OH Leuven's U23 this summer.

Terry, born on 31 July 2008, has been playing football for Anderlecht since 2019. Together with his brother Chike, he then came over from Racing Genk. "Terry is a centre striker with scoring ability," Anderlecht describes the young guy. "With his length and his technical qualities, he has already distinguished himself several times with our youth teams, such as recently at the U16 club tournament in Montaigu."

"Lukaku as an inspiration"

"This was not a difficult choice," Van de Ven, an Antwerp native with dual Belgian-Nigerian nationality, told RSCA Neerpede's Instagram page. "Anderlecht is the best team in Belgium and they show confidence in me. I am also very proud of myself to sign my first professional contract here."

"Romelu Lukaku is my inspiration because, like me, he is a striker. He is fast, strong and has a good finish," Van de Ven said. "I would like to thank the Anderlecht staff, the school and my parents. Thanks to them I am here and have made great strides."

Brother to OH Leuven

Brother Chike also signed a professional contract in October last year. That then ran for the rest of the season, until June 2023. After that deal expired, Chike left Anderlecht for OH Leuven. There, he is part of the U23 selection, but has not yet been in action in the highest amateur league.
