Riemer: "We really wanted Delaney"

INTERVIEWS Newcomer Thomas Delaney sat next to Riemer at his press talk. The Anderlecht coach was full of praise for his newest addition, which he has known for a long time. "Thomas must teach us leadership and help control the midfield," said Riemer.

"Thomas is a player we really wanted to join our team. I've known him since he was 16 years old, when I was still at FC Copenhagen. He is a born leader and a very good midfielder. I hope he will teach us leadership and help to control the midfield, with and without the ball."

"I said earlier that we miss players who can also assist the others in addition to their own game. Thomas is a player for whom that is one of his most important qualities. Moreover, he has experience in two major leagues (Germany and Spain, ed.) , as well as at World Cups and European Championships. With Thomas we have got someone who will help the team, but also the teammates and the club as a whole."
