Lambrechts: "Understanding, but you cannot accept everything".

INTERVIEWS In the podcast Eleven Inside, referee Erik Lambrechts gives a word of explanation about the two yellow cards he showed Vincent Kompany against OHL. It was not what Kompany said that was the problem, but the way he ranted. "A respectful communication must be the basis," he said.


"The basis has to be that there can be communication in a respectful way," Lambrechts began his story. "That we are open to communicate and that initially we try to solve everything with communication. But at a certain point a limit is reached."

Was it then about the words literally or the gesture? "Not about the words literally," says Lambrechts. "Actually, it's two things. The first yellow card was because he was furiously hitting the dugout. When I show it, he keeps going and reacting. In hindsight, I can understand that, because I did miss that foul on Raman first. But you can't just accept everything."
