INTERVIEWS 77 minutes in the Cup and only one in the league: that's Marco Kana's total this season. Those few playing minutes are weighing on his mind. At Bruzz, the 19-year-old Kana says that this has even caused him to put his university studies on hold for a while.

He's in the selection almost every game, but invariably he's almost always number nineteen, twentieth or twenty-first man. "I've almost never been injured, I'm match fit," Kana tells Bruzz. That he doesn't play is a coach's choice. It's not easy. "Not playing soccer for so long, that made me mentally more difficult for a while."

A year and a half ago, Kana went to study applied economic sciences at VUB. Because of his status as a top athlete, he was given a modified track. But the studies are now on pause for a while. "It became too much for me for a while. In the first instance, I now want to make sure I get back to playing."
