GAMES - YOUTH The Belgian U21 started the qualifying campaign for the European Championship of 2023 this afternoon with a 1-3 win in Kazakhstan. Anderlecht defender Killian Sardella opened the score after half an hour. Yari Verschaeren and Anouar Ait El Hadj were also in the starting eleven.
Hamburg player Amadou Onana made it 1-2 after a free kick by Verschaeren.
El Hadj was allowed to rest after 70 minutes by national coach Jacky Mathijssen. Marco Kana then came on the pitch. In minute 84, Verschaeren and Sardella were also substituted. Lucas Lissens remained on the bench for the entire match.
This international match was the only one for the Belgian U21 in this international week. The Anderlecht five are now allowed to go on holiday.
