OTHER Percy Tau and Lukas Nmecha have received an invitation to join their national team. But it is not certain whether Tau will actually travel to South Africa. According to Het Nieuwsblad, Belgian clubs do not like to see players leave for Africa or Latin America due to the corona virus.
On October 7 and 11, South Africa will play two friendly games against Namibia and Zambia in Rustenburg. Tau is one of the 25 selected players.
Het Nieuwsblad writes that many Belgian clubs do not like to see their internationals leave for destinations outside Europe. After all, when they return, a quarantine might follow. However, FIFA announced that clubs do not have to let players leave who must be quarantined at their return. Because South Africa only plays friendly games, there is a good chance that Tau will not travel to Africa after all.
Nmecha plays in Europe with the German U21. Germany will play against Moldova on October 9 and against Bosnia four days later. These are two important games in the context of the qualification for the European Championship.
