Kompany: "Thankful for every minute that I can play here"

INTERVIEWS A delighted Vincent Kompany spoke to the press after the 6-1 victory against KAS Eupen. Kompany also had a share in the win, he managed to head the 4-0 against the ropes. For Kompany it was the first goal since his return this summer.


Childhood dream

“I was really happy with my goal tonight. Normally I am proud if we can keep the zero or if I can prevent a goal through a successful tackle. For me this felt like a kind of milestone. I wanted to score here, for my own crowd, "says Kompany.

"I am grateful every minute that I can play here," Kompany continued. "Scoring here was a chldhood dream when I started here as a 6 year old and it is still a dream when I am 33".

It was striking that there were six different goal scorers (Murillo, Vlap, Pjaca, Kompany, Amuzu and Bakkali, ed). “We really needed this. This season we already played many matches in which we were really dominant, but could not win. Today the balls flew in smoothly ”.

Kompany concluded the interview by stating that Anderlecht is only 8th in the rankings by failing against the smaller teams like Waasland-Beveren and Cercle Brugge, because against Ghent, Genk or Club Brugge, good football was put on the mat.
