Verschaeren: "A fantastic moment"

INTERVIEWS Peter Zulj let himself be noticed, but the big star against Eupen was Yari Verschaeren. "I had healthy stress before the game," the 17-year-old midfielder told afterwards. Coach Fred Rutten and teammate Alexis Saelemaekers also praised Verschaeren.


"Yari is a young guy and very talented, Anderlecht is bursting with talent, there is not only Yari, these guys have to develop and that is a matter of time, but Yari did it properly today." Rutten remained calm. "Because I'm not in the habit of taking out one or two players, and the team has ensured that we won this game."

Then Saelemaekers was slightly more generous with his praise. "The peace at the ball that Yari has at that age is remarkable", according to the still 19-year-old Saelemaekers. "It is impressive, I predict him a great career."

And the last word is to Verschaeren himself. "That goal was a fantastic moment."
