OTHER Andy Kawaya is about to trade KV Mechelen for Avellino in the Italian Serie B. The Anderlecht youth product is currently in Italy to take medical tests. Kawaya can leave at KV Mechelen.

Kawaya was one of the biggest talents at Anderlecht a few years ago, but a serious knee injury made him slow down. Two years ago he was on loan to Willem II for half a season, but he could not break through.

Last summer, Kawaya went to KV Mechelen in the hope of launching his career. That too was not a success. Before New Year he collected only 436 minutes and afterwards he did not even get into the game selection. Two weeks ago it became known that Kawaya had to leave.

Avellino wanted to attract Kawaya last summer, but then he chose KV Mechelen. At Avellino, a lot of Belgians played in recent years. Anderlecht youth players Samuel Bastien and Stéphane Omeonga forced a transfer to the Serie A from there. Currently Pierre-Yves Ngawa and Reno Wilmots are active and on Monday Kenneth Houdret signed a contract.
