How are things with... Isaac Thelin?

OTHER Anderlecht has sent a lot of players on loan during the past season. Now that the season is over, we took some time to see how the season went for them and what we can expect from them next season. Today: Isaac Kiese Thelin.

Isaac Thelin came in January 2017 on loan from the French Bordeaux. Anderlecht paid no less than 700,000 euros for that. Thelin did not convince with one goal in sixteen performances.

Unbelief was big when Anderlecht announced at the end of May that it would rent the Swede a year longer. three months and two weak performances later nobody understood anything about it when Anderlecht bought him and sent him on loan to Waasland-Beveren.

Thelin exploded at the Freethiel. He scored nineteen goals in 33 league games. Sixteen of those he made in the regular competition.

In March, Hein Vanhaezebrouck stated that Thelin will get his chance this summer to convince him during the friendly games.

Christian Wilhelmson and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were positive about their compatriot in the past, who is playing with Sweden at the World Cup this summer.

It's not certain that he is good enough for Anderlecht, but he can be of greater value to Anderlecht than Silvère Ganvoula. On the other hand, Anderlecht will certainly also consider taking advantage of his season (and World Cup?) during summer.
