GAMES Anderlecht beat Racing Genk this evening with 2-0. Thanks to this victory, the Mauves reclaim their place at the top of the table, next to Bruges. For Genk, the defeat may be problematic as the club is still trying to obtain a place in play-off 1.

Anderlecht started with Kara in the starting line-up, which was remarkable because of his minor knee injury. Though the defender would be essential in Anderlecht's victory as he opened the score in the 32nd minute with a good header on a free kick. The goal was deserved as Anderlecht had been dominating most of the match, besides the first 10 minutes when Genk had more ball possession and one good chance through Malinovskiy.

Genk tried to react with shots from Malinovskiy, Samatta and Trossard. Dendoncker tested goalkeeper Ryan on the other side with a hard effort from distance. The score line remained 1-0 at half time.

The second half started with Anderlecht controlling the match. After 50 minutes of play, Tielemans scored again with a fantastic shot from 30 meters: 2-0! The game was over now; Genk lacked the power and quality to return into the match and Anderlecht dropped the pace. Final score: 2-0.
