Friday mayor Jacques Simonet of Anderlecht, chairman of RSC Anderlecht Roger Vanden Stock and the club manager Michel Verschueren announced several new measures to improve the security around the Constant Vanden Stock stadium during high risk games.

These investments will cost 25 million BEF (0.62 million Euro) in total, 150.000 € for the installation of a new commando post, 40.000 € for improvements to the stands and 75.000 € for adjustments to the parking lots. There will be glass barriers to prevent a run onto the field. The stadium will be better accessible for handicapped people. There also will be more police available. In total 700 officers will be responsible for the safety of the spectators and the local residents during big matches of Sporting. During high risk games, 120 police men will ensure the safety in the stadium. Their assignment is to prevent contact between rival groups. To help the police, there will be 90 stewards at the entrance of the stadium who will perform a first check on items, which the supporters might try to take into the stadium. Outside the stadium, 450 fully equiped federal police men will be present. In some cases there also will be a helicopter to follow the movements of supporters. To keep a better eye on the hooligans, 8 'spotters' will be amongst the crowd. There's also a special "Mike"-platoon that has to keep hooligans out of the city center. 15 local police men will guide the traffic around the stadium. 6 police men on motor cycle will escort the coaches with players.
From now on Anderlecht supporters have to use exit 14 on the ring around Brussels, while the one's of the opposing team have to use exit 15. All these security measures are controled from the new command center. The supporter coaches of the opposing team will arrive behind the fence of the stadium, to avoid every confrontation with the fans from Anderlecht and the sale of tickets will also be closed 72 hours before the start of the game.
