Vercauteren: "Waited too long to react"

Anderlecht was lucky to win a point in extra-time thanks to a late penalty. I took the team too long to mount the pressure on the Roeselare defense says Vercauteren. "It's a pity we waited so long to react."


After Jan Polak scored the 2-1, Vercauteren showed himself combative. "Why would we not keep believing in it? It has always been our strength to never give up. As a coach you must give your players a little push now and then. Looking back one wonders why it took so long to bring that kind of quality."

Just like the past weeks the Anderlecht coach reated irritated when asked questions about his future at the club. "It's always the same questions. If I wouldn't be believe in our chances I would quit. If you win or lose you should always learn from the experience."
