Anderlecht to UEFA Cup group phase.

Anderlecht qualified for the group phase of the UEFA Cup. The Mauves were victorious in Austria: 0-1 against Rapid. Akin scored the only goal of the game in the first half. The first leg ended on a 1-1 draw.


Anderlecht took the best start and put pressure on Rapid. After a few chances, Akin scored. Polak centered from the flank and Akin pushed the ball in the nets: 0-1.

From then on, the Mauves controlled the game and counter-attacked when possible. Also in the second half, they had the best chances. Frutos came the closest to doubling the score in the last minute.
