Anderlecht has presented its first summer transfer. It concerns the Brazilian Luciano da Silva 'Triguinho'. The leftwinger signed a contract for 6 months, with the option of an additional 2.5 year. He will sport the number 20.

Anderlecht manager Van Holsbeeck claimed the club scouted the Brazilian intensely. "He is an offensive leftwinger that, like most Brazilians, is endowed with an excellent technique."

It is not the first South American player currently contracted. Secretary-general Phillipe Collin said that Anderlecht have contracted a scout for the South American market. "We will keep looking for South American players in the future, but that doesn't mean we will ignore the European or Belgian markets."

Triguinho is satisfied with the transfer. "I mainly know Anderlecht through the media. This transfer is ideal to get to know Europe. I'm eager to succeed here."

It is, however, not the first time the Brazilian arrived in Europe. "It was an honour when Barcelona contracted me when I was merely 21. I only had a contract for a year but it was a positive experience for me."

"My biggest assets are my speed, my defensive skills and my excellent left foot," said the Brazilian.

Since the arrival of the Argentinians and Ahmed Hassan, Anderlecht has discovered the importance of guidance for non-European players. The club will appoint a guide for Triguinho to ease his integration this time around as well.

Triguinho will be present at the club from 10 July on to speed up his adjustement at the club.
