A feverish Hassan helped pave the way for Anderlecht's tremendous 6-0 win over FC Brussels with a 7th minute strike on Saturday before being stretchered off the pitch in the second-half when he passed out.

“I’m glad I took part and scored in the game that helped Anderlecht retain the league title," said the Egyptian.

Hassan was suffering from a fever over the past week and was not set to start against Brussels. "I wasn’t supposed to play," he said. "I had a sore throat and my temperature was 40 degrees Celsius. Even the coach asked me to sit out the game but I couldn’t, I knew that my team needed me," Hassan added.

But the former Besiktas midfielder said that he suffered a lot before and during the game before being substituted in the second half.
"I had to take a lot of medication before the game, and also during half-time. After Biglia's penalty I fainted and I was immediately substituted, but thank God I regained consciousness as soon as I entered the dressing room.
