Glen De Boeck has been officially presented as new coach of Cercle Bruges. The goal for De Boeck is clear: “De Boeck has to make sure that we are in the left column of the ranking next season.”

The 35-year-old De Boeck is satisfied that he already gets a chance to prove himself as a coach. “I always knew I wanted to take this step in my career but I didn’t expect that it would happen this soon”, said De Boeck. “I’m behind Cercle Brugesin their ambitions. The people of the club have shown a lot of respect for my career during the negotiations.”

Glen De Boeck played for Anderlecht since 1995 but had to stop in 2005 because of an injury. De Boeck is still grateful to Vercauteren: “I respect him a lot.”

The new Cercle coach hasn’t got a ProLicense-certificate yet but he is going to take the next course.
