Baseggio: "I was close to an agreement with Standard"

Former Anderlecht player Walter Baseggio, who is playing for Italian side Treviso at the moment, states that he would have liked to play for Standard Liège. Still, the negotiations with them were cancelled at the very last moment.


"I was very close to an agreement with Standard, because I really didn't want to go to the Serie B", explains Baseggio. "Only two small details were an obstacle for a move to Liège. Nevertheless, I had liked to go to Standard. But never say never again. Maybe I'll still play for Standard some day."
