Mayor against bigger stadium

Chairman Roger Vanden Stock is making plans to expand the stadium. But the mayor of Anderlecht, Jacques Simonet isn’t positive about the plans. He is against de expansion of the stadium.


“Vanden Stock takes his dreams for reality. Nobody ever said that the stadium would expand. Anderlecht are working on a project but I never gave permission for it. My assistants already saw the model and they say that there could be some problems with the stability. I have to think about the neighbourhood” says Simonet.

Anderlecht have to hope that Simonet won’t be elected in October. That’s why Vanden Stock makes his plans official the day after the elections. If he stays mayor Anderlecht will have to look for a new location.
