Enlargement of the stadium cost 50 million

Anderlecht are nog going to build a new stadium. In stead, the Mauves are going to renovate the Vanden Stock stadium. A third ring will be placed on the construction, increasing the capacity with 15,000 extra seats.


"We can't keep on waiting. Year after year the gap with the European subtop is getting bigger. We have to act and increase our capacity to 35.000 or 40.000 seats."

Architects will examine if the current construction will be able to support a 3rd ring. Then the city of Brussels has to agree on the enlargement of the stadium. Anderlecht see 2009 as the start date of the renovation, which will cost around 50 million euro.
