Anderlecht have been defeated by European Champions Liverpool. It's already the eleventh defeat in a row in the Champions League. Further, the Mauves weren't able to score one goal in this campaign.

The game started at low pace. The Mauves held the zero on the scoreboard with ease. Juhasz and De Man played a very good game in the heart of the defense. Anderlecht even had a few little chances, just like Liverpool.

The first real danger came from the Reds. Proto magnificently saved an effort of Morientes. But just 5 minutes later, that same Morientes brought Liverpool ahead with a great shot. He netted the ball via the post: 1-0.

In the second half, the European Champions were clearly the better side. They put the Belgians under pressure from the first minute on. It wasn't a surprise when Luis Garcia doubled the score with a great header: 2-0.

Franky Vercauteren tried to turn the tide and brought the strikers Jestrovic and Puyol in for Serhat and Vanderhaeghe. But that replacement didn't have the right effect, since Jestrogoal took a stupid red card after 5 minutes. He shouted "fuck you man" to Sissoko and was sent off.

Short before time, Cissé scored the 3-0 from an offside position.
