New marketing manager in Anderlecht

When he became manager of Anderlecht, Herman Van Holsbeeck had made it clear how he would structure the club. Now he endeavours to engage the most competent people.

After René Trullemans' arrival a few months ago as the financial manager and Pierre Desmet's as the communication manager, Anderlecht have now engaged the services of Chris Lioen. He will be Anderlecht's marketing manager. This man was previously the manager of Coca Cola Belgium. However Anderlecht had to make a big financial effort to get him. "We had to made concessions", reckons Van Holsbeeck. "Chris Lioen knows about the world of footabll because of Coca Cola. Anderlecht have to make bigger money incomes. We should take the example of Lyon and PSV, the budget of which has doubled from commercial incomes", explains the manager of Anderlecht.

This time, this decision is Van Holsbeeck's choice only. "As far as the communication is concerned, I did not choose who I wanted. Pierre Desmet was very close to the president's family (husband of the president's daughter and father of the club's webmaster). I could choose as far as the commercial manager is concerned", says Van Holsbeeck.
