INJURIES Anderlecht seemed to have largely put their injury problems behind them, but fate decided otherwise. During the match against Union, Jan Vertonghen injured his groin. Despite attempts to continue playing, the RSCA captain had to leave the pitch. Coach Brian Riemer indicated that the injury did not seem serious, but the exact severity is still uncertain.

After the match, Riemer shared some information about Vertonghen's injury during the press conference. Although the severity is still unclear, the coach seemed optimistic: ‘It is certainly nothing serious,' he sounded.

Vertonghen seemed stricken at his substitution, but according to Riemer, there was no cause for alarm. The player's emotions were understandable given the circumstances. So there is still hope Vertonghen can recover for the upcoming matches.
