TRANSFERS During the meeting of the Fan Council Tuesday night, Jesper Fredberg also went a little deeper into some transfer files. For example, he mentioned that talks are ongoing with FC Sevilla, that Jan Vertonghen may not wait until after the European Championship to decide and that the club is looking for a stand-in for Anders Dreyer.

According to Fredberg, the core is even better composed after the winter mercato than before. All positions are double, except perhaps that of Anders Dreyer. Therefore, Anderlecht is looking at getting a second player with his profile, left-footed winger for on the right, next summer.

With Ludwig Augustinsson, Thomas Delaney and Federico Gattoni, Anderlecht has three Sevilla rental players running around. Fredberg said both Augustinsson and Delaney have performed very well so far. Gattoni has a top mentality, even if he doesn't play much. Anderlecht is now checking with Sevilla whether a permanent transfer is among the possibilities for one or more players, but it is difficult to say anything about that at this point.

Jan Vertonghen's situation has been in the newspapers several times in recent weeks. Anderlecht indeed wants to offer him a new contract and the club has already had good talks with Vertonghen. Fredberg told that Vertonghen is smart enough to make his choice at the right time, but that Anderlecht also can't wait until after the European Championship to know anything. Getting another replacement then is difficult. Vertonghen's other role within the club has not been discussed.
