YOUTH The Belgian U17 have won their first match of the elite round for the European Championships. Against Finland it became 0-1. Nathan De Cat is the only Anderlecht player in the selection. He played the whole match.

So only one Anderlecht player, but a lot of others with a purple and white past. Both Mael Debondt (Gent), Konstantinos Karetsas (Genk), Michée Ndembi (Benfica) and Chike Van De Ven (OH Leuven) left Anderlecht last summer. Samuel Nibombe (Monaco, 2015-2018 with Anderlecht), Zaïd Bafdili (Genk, 2013-2020 with Anderlecht) and Joyeux Masanka Bungu (RB Leipzig, until 2015 with Anderlecht) also once played for Anderlecht.

The Belgian U17 still play against Italy (Saturday) and the Netherlands (Tuesday). The eight group winners and the seven best runners-up will qualify for next summer's European Championships.
