Hungarian international linked to Anderlecht

TRANSFERS The English website TEAMtalk reports that Anderlecht is one of the clubs interested in Callum Styles. Styles is a central midfielder of Barnsley with dual British-Hungarian nationality. He has been a regular with the Hungarian national team since this year.


The 23-year-old Styles played soccer for Burnley youth until he was 16. Via Bury, he joined Barnsley in 2018. As key player, he was relegated to the English third division in 2022. There he sits at three goals and one assist in 12 games this season. 

In March 2022, Styles made his debut for the Hungarian national team. Meanwhile, his tally stands at 16 international appearances, 10 of them as a base player.

According to TEAMtalk, Premier League clubs Burnley and Sheffield United and Championship side West Bromwich are keen to recruit him in January. From abroad, there is said to be interest from Anderlecht, Braga, Union Berlin and Lens. Styles is still under contract at Barnsley until mid-2025. His value is currently estimated at 3.5 million euros.

It should be noted that Styles is a central midfielder and Anderlecht already has a lot of players for that position. So some guys will have to leave before he becomes a concrete track, we suspect.
