Verschaeren makes comeback in friendly game on Thursday

INJURIES Good news about Yari Verschaeren: in Thursday's friendly game against Zulte Waregem, the attacking midfielder will make his reappearance after more than half a year of injury. "Yari is doing well," says coach Brian Riemer. "We are very much looking forward to Thursday."


"The plan is that Yari will play on Thursday in the friendly game against Zulte Waregem. That will be his first game minutes. That's the final step now. He is training fully with the team. He's doing everything to the max: sprinting, tackling, .... It's going really well," Riemer said at his press conference yesterday.

"At the moment we have to find a balance between myself as coach, who wants him back in, and the medical staff, who are protecting him a bit. Because we don't want to overload him so nothing else happens. But his knee is fine. It's more his whole body that has to get used to all the efforts and games again. We are very much looking forward to Thursday."
