De Boeck ends football career

It seems like Glen De Boeck won't play anymore. He answered the question of the press whether he will continue his football career, with a significant quote: "That chapter is definitive finished."


The player took his decision when Franky Vercauteren asked him to become assistant-coach.

"It's all going so fast. Franky called me yesterday. His proposal charmed me. I am motivated to do my job for the club."

His decision also means that De Boeck's carreer ends now. He was recovering from a bad knee injury. "The doctor said that the chances were rather small that I would ever football on a high level again. So that made my decision easier", said the 33-years old De Boeck.
