TRANSFERS Anderlecht have done an excellent financial job with the transfer of Alexis Saelemaekers. In an interview with Het Nieuwsblad, Michael Verschueren reports that Purple & White receives more than the total sum of 8 million euros that has been circulating in recent days.
3.5 million euros to rent Saelemaekers until June, 3.5 million euros to take over definitively afterwards and 1 million euros in bonuses: that would be what Anderlecht would earn from Saelemaekers, according to recent days. "Those numbers are incorrect. It's more," says Verschueren today. "Moreover, we have a percentage with a later resale."
Verschueren does not want to give details, but talks about a good deal for everybody. "It is good that we rejected the proposals from Freiburg and CSKA Moscow."
Farewell to team mates
Anderlecht hoped to say goodbye to Saelemaekers on Sunday for the match against Mouscron, but that didn't work. He immediately had to play with his new team. Against Hellas Verona (1-1) he was allowed to come in fifteen minutes before the end.
He was back in Belgium yesterday, mainly to say goodbye. He went to Neerpede to say goodbye to staff, board and team mates. He was also a guest at La Tribune on the RTBF. Hein Vanhaezebrouck was also present. He launched the right winger at Anderlecht at the time.
