After they had lost the clash against Standard, Club Bruges has already a lead of 7 points on the Mauves. Too much, says everyone. But what do they have to change? Van Holsbeeck, Hasi and Vercauteren gave their opinions.

"We have to defend better, and give the players confidence", said manager Herman Van Holsbeeck. He wants to stay calm. "There is no reason to make a drama of the defeat against Standard. Seven points behind is much, surely if you look at our group of players that are available. But as long as there is dedication of the players, we have to trust the coach and the players."
If you analyse the game, you see that Anderlecht doesn't play well, but there was dedication. That's the most important fact."

Besnik Hasi reacted very calmly: "There is still a good atmosphere in the group. We didn't defend close enough against Standard. We will have to change that. We played with more confidence than the match against La Louvière, but 3 out of 6 in our last two matches isn't good enough. Also 1 point in Standard hadn't been good enough."
"We have to be 4 points behind Club Bruges in the winter break, nothing more. We will have to win the clash against them in December. But we have to stay calm, we are still laughing on training."

Franky Vercauteren: "We are still searching for our best playing level. We have to be better than the rest, but some players are still looking for their best shape and don't have self-esteem at the moment. Our tactics aren't good either. Maybe it's not that bad that our internationals leave Anderlecht for a week. I hope they will return with a fresh mind, and with more confidence."

"The players were disappointed after they were defeated. They know they can do better, and that Standard aren't stronger than we are, if we play on our normal level."
