"Nasri must take our youngsters to a higher level"

TRANSFERS Chairman Marc Coucke and general manager Michael Verschueren are delighted that they have succeeded in getting Samir Nasri. According to them, the experienced Frenchman can help Anderlecht a lot. "Our youngsters can only succeed thanks to boys like Nasri."


On social media Nasri's arrival is criticized: the Frenchman would block the own youth. On the contrary, President Coucke claims: the youngsters will get the benefits of Nasri's arrival. "We are pulling the card of the youth and want to give them plenty of opportunities to develop", says Coucke. "But they can only succeed if they are well surrounded on and off the field. Nasri is a top player who will give our boys experience. He can lift them to a higher level by training and playing with them."

General manager Verschueren can't wait to see Nasri in the Astridpark. "Nasri is a player for whom people come to the stadium. He is fast, has a strong dribble and can make an individual action. Nasri fits the style of the house," said Mister Michel's son.

"Nasri knows the system that Vincent wants to play with Anderlecht. He also has enormous added value in that area. After a few difficult seasons, he will be eager to show himself again."
