Hugo Broos wanted an easy group and thinks that Anderlecht are strong enough to beat Lyon and Celtic at home. According to assistant-coach Vercauteren, Anderlecht will end up second, behind Bayern.

The first two team advance to the first knock-out round. The 3rd in the ranking can play in the UEFA-Cup.

Hugo Broos, Franky Vercauteren and Glen De Boeck reacted in a positive way on the draw. They seem to agree that the second round for RSCA is a serious possibility.
"These aren't the strongest teams. We can take points in the games against Lyon and Celtic. I'm satisfied with the draw. There are possibilities for Anderlecht. Though we start with the 3 hardest games." said Broos.
"Bayern Munchen are the best team. The other 3 clubs will have to fight for the second place. We must see the pressure on our team as a positive thing. It can boost us to a higher level. The first 3 games are very important. We must obtain some points in Lyon and against Celtic." reacted Vercauteren.

Olivier Deschacht was less happy. "I wanted to avoid Bayern. I don't like French teams either. I'm glad with Celtic though. I like them better."

Pär Zetterberg said that Anderlecht ended up in a hard group. But that doesn't mean that we can't reach the second round. "There are always possibilities. We must take 9 points at home, and hopefully a few in Lyon or Celtic", said the Swede.
