Grzegorz Krychowiak could replace Kouyaté

Grzegorz Krychowiak of Stade de Reims might become Kouyaté's replacement. The Polish player has the same age as Kouyaté and also has experience as an international. From Arka Gdynia, he made his way to Bordeaux, Nantes and Reims.


Krychowiak is 7 centimeters smaller than Kouyaté, but has a lot of physical power. His stamina is comparable, but he's slower than the Senegalese midfielder. The Polish player is almost never injured and did not get any red cards during his career in France up until now. He is no European experience. Overall, both are comparable though. Therefore Krychowiak might be a good alternative for Kouyaté.

The player and Anderlecht are already talking about a transfer but there is no agreement yet. The high price of Krychowiak might be problematic for Anderlecht though. Stade de Reims would like to have 7 million euro for the midfielder. They paid 800.000 euro themselves for the player. Manager Van Holsbeeck indicated that the club is willing to pay 5 million for a good replacement for Kouyaté. So after some negotiating, both sides may come to an agreement after all.
