Hazard not coming

One day after winning the Golden Boot, the reward for best football player in Belgium, Thorgan Hazard decided to stay in Zulte Waregem. Hazard was top priority for Anderlecht as reinforcement.


After a whole transfer soap, the decision has been made: Hazard is not coming. For weeks, both clubs were fighting for the midfielder. Last week, a transfer to Anderlecht seemed a certainty, but Zulte Waregem didn't give up.

This morning, manager Van Holsbeeck indicated he does not want to cross a certain line in the battle for the player. "I want to be able to look at myself in the mirror", he stated. It was the first sign that the young Belgian player was not going to come to Brussels. Anderlecht's final offer had by then already been refused by Zulte Waregem. The Mauves offered one player and one million euro. A good offer, certainly since Anderlecht was not bound to offer anything to Zulte Waregem since the player is being loaned by Chelsea to Zulte Waregem.

Today, Hazard announced on a press conference that he wants to commotion to end. He decided to stay where he is until June.
