Anderlecht ended the year in style. The Belgian champions beat Zulte Waregem on the last matchday before the winter break with 1-0. Because of the defeat of Bruges, Anderlecht are now ranked second on 4 points of leader Standard.

Anderlecht played a good game against the vice champions and immediately took control over the match. The chances followed rapidly via Bruno and Mitrovic, who hit the crossbar. In the rebound Praet scored, but the referee had already seen a disputable foul of Kouyaté on goalkeeper Bossut. Zulte Waregem only produced danger on a free kick, but started to have more ball possession. A goal of Mitrovic didn't count due to a hand ball and Bossut kept Najar from scoring.

The second half was less interesting with fewer chances. Conté had one for the visitors, Praet for the home side. The goal fell on a corner kick. Gillet's header bounced of Malanda's chest and went in: 1-0. The Mauves had more chances by the end of the match but forgot to score, while Zulte Waregem never recovered from the goal they conceded. Right before the end, Mitrovic did succeed in scoring but the linesman had incorrectly flagged for offside.
