Kouyaté has a light injury

Cheikhou Kouyaté underwent an ultrasound scan at the thigh. The defender has a light injury but played with Senegal nonetheless. The defender took a great risk by playing.


"An examination showed a muscular tearing of 2cm in the thigh. Playing could have made the injury worse. They even told me I could have been out for a whole season. But I took the risk and did it for Senegal", he said.

For as far as known by now, the injury did not get worse. Kouyaté will need to train individually for a while.
