Who will replace Boussoufa?

The media already published ten possible replacements for Boussoufa. It's clear that Anderlecht made at least ten million euro on his transfer, so the Mauves have some money to spend.


1. Kevin De Bruyne (RC Genk)
He's young and Belgian. The Mauves already tried to land him earlier, without success. It's unlikely De Bruyne will prefer Anderlecht over a foreign club. Besides, he's not cheap!

2. Dries Mertens (FC Utrecht)
Belgian top talent in Holland. Mertens plays on the same position as Boussoufa and already announced he would like to join Anderlecht. Many other clubs are interested though.

3. Ronald Vargas (Club Brugge)
Vargas played a strong season and knows the Belgian league. But a transfer from Brugge to Anderlecht is a sensative topic. Vargas is also recovering from a heavy injury, so it's not sure if he'll get back to his former level.

4. Dusan Tadic (FC Groningen)
The 22 year old Serbian international is the king of assist in Holland. He gave 13 of them and scored 5 goals. He costs five million euro, which is feasible. But he might aim higher than Anderlecht and he's not yet experienced to play in a big club.

5. Milan Jovanovic (Liverpool)
Jovanovic has sympathy for Anderlecht and visa versa. The player knows the Belgian league well, since he played for Standard before. Right now, he's in the bench in Liverpool. But he's quite old already, becoming 30 soon.

6. Yassine El Ghanassy (AA Gent)
Very talented AA Gent player. But his club will certainly ask a high price for the player. At the moment, he's also not performing at a constant level...

7. Reynaldo (Anderlecht, playing for Cercle Brugge)
Reynaldo is still an Anderlecht player and is doing well in Cercle. But he didn't manage to break through in Anderlecht before. He certainly doesn't have the same level as Boussoufa and also the fans won't like the idea that Anderlecht will not spend the transfer fee of Boussoufa on a replacement.

8. Hernan Losada (Anderlecht, playing Charleroi)
He still has a deal in Anderlecht and is talented. But he never managed to break through. The club doesn't really believe in him anymore.

9. Shikabala (Zamalek)
The Mauves tried to land the player during the summer. After a long soap and a legal battle, Shikabala eventually remained in Egypt. He would be a good replacement for Boussoufa, but it's unlikely Anderlecht will make another attempt to charm the player. Besides, Shikabala already played in Europe and didn't convince.

10. Unknown South American or Israëli
Anderlecht will scout in Argentinia and Uruguay. They already watched several players at work in Israel...
