Baseggio has thyroid gland cancer

Ex-Anderlecht player Walter Baseggio has thyroid gland cancer. In Le soir he talks about how the found it out in July. There are no disseminations and the chance he will recover is big.

"During the physical tests at Moeskroen, the doctor also checked my throat,” says Walter. “During those tests seemed that there was a lump in my throat. They immediately send me to the specialist. He found a problem and on July 10th I was operated on.”

"This is serious, but the chance I get better is big. I’m waiting for the results of my blood test now. I do now my recovery will take 4 to 6 months.”
