Yesterday, Romelu Lukaku trained with the A-team, but he won’t join them all the time. The most important reason for that is that the training schedule isn’t compatible to his school hours.

"We have to give Romelu the time to adapt to the schedule of the A-team,” Peter Smeets says. “We can’t push youngsters too much. This decision is made on a sportive base, but he’ll get the chance to show his qualities with the A-team.”

Also trainer Ariël Jacobs talked to the press about Lukaku. “I don’t want to burn him out, neither am I here to slow him down,’ Jacobs said. “Who am I to say whether or not he should quit school and join the A-team? If he fails, I’ll blame myself for it. Romelu will join us in Austria and then he returns to the B-team.”
