Ariël Jacobs gave his opinion for tonight's game against Sint-Truiden. "We have the motivation to gain the second place and to win against a team that have beaten us in the first round".

Anderlecht had still some hopes of gaining the title, so after last week's loss against Standard the players were dissapointed. "You could feel the dissapointment in the beginning of this week" so says Jacobs. "We had to face the fact that the title was gone".

"But the group is realistic enough to realise that even if we had won in Standard, gaining the title would be difficult. Deep down we knew that gaining 7 points on Standard would be too much. But after our dramatic first round the second place and the final of the Cup would be an unexpected result"

Although the title is gone, the last 3 matches are very important for the second place and the ticket for the second qualification round of the Champions League. Anderlecht knows what it needs to do against Sint-Truiden, and that is winning. But it won't be easy, because if the "Canaries" lose tonight's match, they are curtain of playing in the second devision next year.

That is why Jacobs is expecting a motivated opponent. "They are playing against the second best team of the competition, so they will want to prove themselves" so ends Jacobs the pressconference.
