In a very weak game, the Mauves defeated GBA with 1-0. A lucky win, because GBA had the best chances. Three minutes before time, Frutos forced Dheedene to an own-goal on a free kick: 1-0.

The first half started with GBA in command and it remained that way until the break. Anderlecht had only one chance, when Pieroni appeared in front of goalkeeper Steppe, who saved the shot. Boussoufa was too late to score the rebound.

Besides that, it was GBA who created tons of chances. The Antwerp club also had 70% ball possession. It started with a header of Losada, but also Malki and Monteyne had excellent chances to open the score. Goalkeeper Schollen, who replaced the injured Zitka and Proto, showed himself with a few outstanding actions. That way, Anderlecht miraculously made it to half time without taking a goal.

The second half started better for Anderlecht. Deschacht was swapped for Vlcek and the Mauves started to control the game and create danger. Gillet's effort went far over the crossbar, but then the pace dropped. The next good effort came 15 minutes later when a good playing Juhasz missed the target. Meanwhile, Jacobs had made another change to his team by replacing the invisible Pieroni for Frutos. The Argentinian striker immediately gave a good center to Boussoufa, but his effort missed the post for inches.

In the last 10 minutes, the Mauves tried to make the difference, but GBA didn't break. Until Frutos put pressure on Dheedene: the defender tried to keep Frutos from scoring, but made an own goal with his knee in the process: 1-0. Anderlecht had a few other chances, but couldn't double the lead.
